Hole Descriptions

Hole 1 – Par 4
A welcoming start.
This short par 4 lets you ease into the round. A well-placed tee shot leaves a short iron into a receptive green.
Bunkers guard the front of this green while over is nothing but trouble.
Hole 2 – Par 4
Risk and reward.
This straight par 4 plays longer to a green perched on the top of the hill. A large mound guards the right side of this fairway.
The green is sloped from right to left, par is a good score here.
Hole 3 – Par 3
Short but sneaky.
Don’t let the distance fool you. This downhill par 3 requires precision, as bunkers guard both sides of a small green.
Favor the middle, even if the pin is tucked.
Hole 4 – Par 4
Time to let it fly.
One of the longer par 4s, this hole invites a big drive. The fairway is generous.
The green is hidden from sight by a large hill.
The prudent play is to hit your approach short and let the slope take your ball to the green’s surface
Hole 5 – Par 4
Signature shot.
This uphill par 4 will challenge both your tee shot and second shot to this elevated green.
There is trouble right and left off the tee leading to a smallish green with slopes right to left and front to back.
Hole 6 – Par 4
Strategic challenge.
This short par 4 can lead to eagle opportunities if you can carry the fairway bunker.
The green slopes severely from front left to back right.
Hole 7 – Par 3
Stay sharp.
The green surface is not visible from the tee on this medium length par 3.
The fairway and the green both slope from right to left.
Par is a good score here.
Hole 8 – Par 4
Hold your nerve.
The first challenge on this par 4 is to hit the fairway that slopes from left to right.
Second challenge, your approach to this well guarded green with the historic Shady Rest Clubhouse serving as a back drop.
Hole 9 – Par 3
Finish strong.
Shady Rest finishes on a long par three that plays slightly uphill to a rather large green. The green is guarded on both side by bunkers.
Par is a good score here.
